Walking in England by
John Harris
http://www.walkinginengland.co.uk/
- offers thousands
of walks which can be downloaded with lots of information. Some
walks included leaflets and maps. This site also includes Walking
in Yorkshire for details of walks in our area
http://www.walkinginengland.co.uk/Yorkshire
Currently all activity within our club has been suspended
due to Coronavirus restrictions. This includes Saturday & Sunday
walks and weekend breaks.
We still have two events planned this year (2021). The first is
our annual UK holiday to the Isle of Wight in May (rescheduled from
2020). This is fully booked.
The second event is our annual abroad holiday. This is a
walking holiday based in Capileira, Spain. This has now been
rescheduled to September 2021. This holiday is also fully
booked.
It is hoped that regular walking activity will resume
when restrictions are lifted. It is likely that most of this
activity will be advertised through our WhatsApp group. When it is
possible to run walks with larger groups, we will resume our Sunday
Coach Walks, though these will be offered on a more limited basis
and will mostly be advertised through our WhatsApp
group.

This website gives you all the information you need about our
walking club. You are welcome to try us out before joining and we
are especially keen to attract new members who would like to come
walking with us on a Sunday, when we hire a coach and travel to
wonderful places every week and have 2 to 3 levels of walk to
choose from.
You can download our walking programme to see what we offer on
Saturdays (one walk – locally) and Sundays (up to three
walks).
We have members walking with us from a large area including many
parts of West Yorkshire, some parts of North Yorkshire and
specifically from Bradford, Leeds, Huddersfield, Bingley, Keighley,
Silsden, Saltaire and Shipley.
New
Sponsored Footpath Sign
Bradford CHA has teamed
up with the Peak and Northern Footpath Society (PNFS) to introduce
more signs in Bradford District. We have sponsored three signs and
we hope to sponsor more in the future.
The first one has now
been erected and can be found on the path from Haworth to Bronte
Bridge (GR SE0027235969)
They are very attractive
foot path signs and they will also promote our club.
We also hope more
people will join or donate to the Peak and Northern Footpath
Society.
Bradford Council have
been very helpful to both groups and this is greatly
appreciated
